At Kiwi International Hotel we are all about
making life simple and we do that each and every day by offering a
variety of affordable accommodation options from singles, doubles
with ensuite through to one
bedroom apartments perfect for families.
And in the spirit of
expanding our approach to the philosophy of "making life simple",
we want to help-out Auckland bound or currently living parents,
these winter school holidays. So we have compiled a list of some of
what we think are the top school holiday
offerings/events/programmes these school holidays.

The aim of the programmes is
to keep the kids entertained. The aim of our compiled list is to
simplify the options on offer.
So here are our top
5 choices these school holidays:
Aotea Square is transformed into a winter ice skating
wonderland, set to delight even the biggest of avid Frozen fans.
This time round the ice slide is doubled the size and set to
deliver an epic tube ride. Fully covered, the rink allows ice
skating fun, no matter what mother nature throws at it and with a
designated Penguins Kids Zone, for the younger and possible less
prolific skaters to get their confidence up and sign up for lessons
to get them skating like a pro in no time.
So get your woolly bests on, get the young ones Frozen fabulous
for chilly fun that's only here for a limited time.
Auckland Zoo celebrates the beauty and majesty of elephants
these holidays. From 27 June to 19 July and over four weekends
there'll be special elephant-themed activities for the whole
family, including (during the first weekends: 27 and 28 June and 4
and 5 July) ASB sponsored bouncy castles, colouring comps and money
box stacking. Over the four weekend celebration will be face
painting, puzzles and elephant story-time. Zoo entry costs apply.
Visit their website for further details.
So far we have a winter wonderland treat of ice skating and
exotic animal celebrations at the zoo so next it only rightfully
follows that we head upwards. Way, way up into the stratosphere
with two planetarium shows and rocket-themed craft activities.
The Auckland Stardome has brand-new show Accidental Astronauts
for the little ones (up to six years of age) and Astronaut for the
older kids. And after the show create your very own rocket to take
home.
Visit Stardome for dates,
screening times and cost
The Spy Tower, I mean Sky Tower, will this school holidays, host
Spy Tower activities for kids. The scene is set: All agents are
needed on the case as the Blue Diamond has been stolen - the
mission includes multiple interactive stages including a laser maze
165m above ground level and New Zealand's highest game of I-Spy
ever.
Located just down from Kiwi International Hotel,
Spy Tower is a great, handy and super fun option this school
holidays. Sky Tower admission fees apply. Visit Spy Tower - Sky
Tower School Holidays for further details
Let's start off with the best thing about this offering - it's
FREE. Indulge these school holidays in a free public boat tour on
Waitematā Harbour that allows you to take in the great views
of our port from the sea.
The tour is an hour long and takes you alongside the container
terminals, where you can see the big cranes and other machinery at
work - perfect for the budding engineers and mechanically minded
young ones in your family. And it weaves in and out of the
commercial wharves, while (thankfully) an informative commentary
explains how each area operates.
Bookings are essential - phone 360 Discovery on 09 307 8005 or
